Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead

The Footlight Club at Eliot Hall
7A Eliot Street Jamaica Plain

The Footlight Club presents Tom Stoppard's absurdist tragicomedy Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. First staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1966, this acclaimed play tells the story of the courtiers Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet. Largely isolated from the main action of the play, the pair spend their time in confusion, engaging in witty repartee with the leader of the traveling acting company that comes to the castle, and moving slowly and unavoidably toward their doom.
