Inspired by the real-life controversy over the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Washington, DC, this new drama recalls the battles waged by 21-year-old architect Maya Lin, who faced racism and ageism as she was forced to defend her strikingly non-traditional design to veterans, the Congress and even her family. Memorial, by Livian Yeh, comes to the Boston Playwrights' Theatre, now in its 35th season, as a production of the BU New Play Initiative.
