Blackberry Winter
321 Arsenal Street Watertown
Interspersed with a touching myth-based representation of Alzheimer's disease itself, a daughter faces ever-growing challenges as her mother begins her inexorable and relentless descent into dementia. To cope with the trauma of watching a loved one fade before her very eyes, protagonist Vivienne retreats further into a world of anxiety, imagination and late-night baking. A native Atlantan now based in L.A., playwright Steve Yockey's Blackberry Winter was developed by Atlanta's Out of Hand Theater and is now coming to Watertown's Arsenal Center for the Arts.
