Betty Bam!

Betty Bam!

Boston Center for the Arts
539 Tremont Street Boston

A knock at the door followed by an accusation of an undisclosed crime forces Betty Bam to engage in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with her would-be pursuers. In Betty Bam! -- an original adaptation of the absurdist play by avant-garde Soviet era scribe Daniil Kharms -- you'll see the charming heroine take on many roles in a no-holds-barred attempt to escape her fate. This Boston Center for the Arts production follows Betty through her many incarnations -- daughter, wife, temptress, actress and, perhaps, cold-blooded killer. But which is the real Betty Bam? Who killed Pyotr Nikolayevich? And isn't that him standing right over there? It's a caper that defies classification and expectation, in keeping with Kharms' surrealist legacy.
