A Little Night Music

Huntington Theatre
264 Huntington Ave Boston

Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music is a witty, urbane romance set to waltz time. The action takes place over a weekend at a country house in early 20th-century Sweden. Middle-aged lawyer Fredrik Egerman has been married to his teenage trophy wife for nearly a year, but she's tenaciously holding onto her virginity. His eyes begin to wander to the other guests and he finds himself searching for true meaning and fulfillment in a relationship. Sophisticated, literate and stylish, A Little Night Music is a warm and witty exploration of the complexities of love and heartache, and is most famous for the ballad "Send in the Clowns."
