Uncle Jack

Uncle Jack

Huntington Theatre
264 Huntington Ave Boston

In this modern-day retelling of Anton Chekhov's tragicomedy Uncle Vanya, Uncle Jack, his niece Sonya and his British brother-in-law Derek struggle to save their small summer theater company in the Berkshires ... and the company's looming demise causes old wounds to reopen and fester. Comic mayhem ensues as Jack fires a keepsake pistol, Derek runs for cover and hearts are broken. A quiet retreat becomes the site of truly Chekhovian comedy in this new retelling my Michael Hammond.
