Carrie: The Musical

Carrie: The Musical

Boston Center for the Arts
539 Tremont Street Boston

The blood will flow once again during Carrie: The Musical, a staged retelling of the best-selling novel that put Stephen King on the map. A legendary flop on Broadway when it was produced in 1988, this show was rebuilt from the ground up by the show's original authors for a hit off-Broadway production, and now comes to the Boston Center for the Arts. A social outcast, Carrie White is bullied at school and tormented at home by her overprotective mother. She also fosters a growing ability to mentally manipulate the world around her -- a power she may not be able to contain if she's provoked one ... more ... time. If you've a taste for the macabre, don't miss this grand and gruesome musical production, which features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic 1976 film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment) and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).
