Based on the Gospel of Matthew and Luke and featuring an infectious pop-rock score by Stephen Schwartz (award-winning composer of Wicked and Pippin), this joyous musical retells the story of Jesus and his disciples through a series of charming, comedic sketches and songs like "Day by Day," "Save the People" and "All for the Best." The show's unique blend of theatrical traditions -- clowning, pantomime, vaudeville -- and message of hope and kindness have resonated with generations of audiences since it opened off-Broadway in 1971. In fact, the musical was most recently revived on Broadway in 2011.
