Ragtime at Strand Theatre

Fiddlehead Theatre company, in conjunction with the American Civil Liberties Union, presents Ragtime. Based on E.L. Doctorow's novel, the Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of three ethnically diverse American families at the turn of the century whose lives unexpectedly become entwined. With powerful music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and the compelling storytelling of four-time Tony winner Terrence McNally (Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Full Monty), Ragtime is a timeless portrayal of what it means to live in America, where wealth meets poverty, freedom battles with prejudice and despair is always tempered by hope. The eclectic, award-winning score features such show stopping songs as "Getting Ready Rag," "Wheels of a Dream," "Till We Reach That Day" and "Make Them Hear You."
