Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) will present the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-Winning rock musical RENT for the first time as part of the ongoing 70th Anniversary Season. The smash hit musical will rock the stage beginning Tuesday, September 16, 2025 and play through Sunday, September 28, 2025.

We have assembled an extraordinary cast and creative team who are passionately committed to honoring Jonathan Larson's legacy and bringing new life to this iconic and powerful work."

Falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today - RENT is the Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and four 1996 Tony© Awards including Best Musical. Set in the East Village of New York City from 1989 - 1990, Jonathan Larson's RENT is a groundbreaking rock musical that follows a year in the lives of struggling artists battling poverty, love, addiction, disease, and loss. Featuring iconic songs like "Seasons of Love," "La Vie Boheme," "Take Me or Leave Me," RENT is an unforgettable show and a powerful tribute to friendship, resilience, and living without regret.

The cast of RENT will be led by Aaron Alcaraz (Mark Cohen), Robert Garcia (Angel Dumott Schunard), Aaron Arnell Harrington (Tom Collins), Cate Hayman (Maureen Johnson), Kat Rodriguez (Joanne Jefferson), Didi Romero (Mimi Marquez), Austin Turner (Roger Davis), and Kristopher Stanley Ward (Benjamin Coffin III).

Rounding out the 20-member cast will be Rickens Anatua, Kimberly Camacho, Alana Cauthen ("Seasons of Love" soloist), Matt Donzella, Marie Eife, Natalya Fisher, Timothy Matthew Flores, Paola V. Hernandez, Christopher McCrewell, Brogan Nelson, Zachary Scott Prall, and Jacob Tischler.

The creative team for RENT comprises Marcos Santana (Director & Choreographer), Aaron Jodoin (Music Supervisor), Robert L. Rucinski (Music Director), Jeffrey D. Kmiec (Scenic Design), Rebecca Glick (Costume Design & Coordinator), Jose Santiago (Lighting Design), Alex Berg (Sound Design), Rachel Padula-Shuflet (Wig and Hair Design), Beth Truax (Video Design), Brian M.
