Wicked returns to the Citizens Bank Opera House in Boston

Wicked, Boston's most beloved musical, will be returning to Citizens Bank Opera House from June 8th through July 24th 2022 as part the Broadway In Boston Season. Wicked, the Broadway hit musical, examines what happened in the Land of Oz from a new angle. A young woman with emerald green skin is born long before Dorothy arrives. She is intelligent, fiery and misunderstood. The initial rivalry between them turns into the most unlikely of friendships when she meets a bright blonde who is extremely popular. Until the rest of the world calls one "good" and the other "wicked".

Wicked features a dramatic score including the hits "Defying Gravity", "Popular", and "For Good." The New York Times calls it "the defining musical" of the decade, while Time Magazine describes it as "a magical Broadway musical with brains and heart and courage." NBC Nightly News called the musical "the greatest Broadway success story ever."

Wicked, now the fifth longest-running Broadway show, has won over 100 international awards. Wicked opened in 2003 and has been seen in more than 100 cities across 16 countries (U.S.A., Canada.
