On Friday, November 4, 2011 the F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company will present their Eleventh Anniversary Season's inaugural production of "SPRING AWAKENING."

Directed, choreographed and designed by JOE DeMITA with Musical Direction by STEVEN BERGMAN, the 2007 Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Grammy Award winning Best Musical will run through SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12 at The Arsenal Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre (321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA).

The SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5 performance has been set aside as the OFFICIAL PRESS PERFORMANCE.

Based on the scandalous 1891 Frank Wedekind play, "SPRING AWAKENING" features an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik with a book and lyrics Steven Sater,

Set against the backdrop of repressive late 19th century Germany, "SPRING AWAKENING" tells the story of self-discovery and budding sexuality as seen through the eyes of three teenagers.

Haunting and provocative, the musical celebrates a journey from youth to adulthood with power, poignancy a passion.

"SPRING AWAKENING" opened on Broadway on December 10, 2006 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, following its World Premiere at the Atlantic Theatre Company earlier in 2006. At its closing it had performed 859 performances on Broadway and 29 previews.

In addition to Best Musical Tony the show additionally garnered seven additional Tony Awards as well as four Drama Desk Awards (including Best Musical) and a Theatre World Award.

The original cast recording of "SPRING AWAKENING" won the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

"SPRING AWAKENING" was the most talked about Broadway production in years.
