Boston Children's Theatre (BCT) is proud to announce the return of the beloved children's classic THE VELVETEEN RABBIT. Back by popular demand for a third smash season, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT is a captivating and entertaining story about the strength and power of a young boy's imagination and love.
Adapted by BCT Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT features original puppets designed by Marjorie Tudor of the Tasha Tudor Family combined with live actors to create a magical experience for people of all ages. "The response to this production has been overwhelming," reveals Clark. "Children are particularly enthralled by the puppets interacting with the young actors on stage. It's a wonderful experience for parents, grandparents and children to share with each other. For many families, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT has become a holiday tradition."
Based on the enchanting novel by Margaret Williams about a boy and his stuffed rabbit's quest to be real, THE VELVETEEN RABBIT features 10 young actors from 9 area communities. The cast includes Andover resident Teresa Dell'Anno; Boston resident Rosie Cerulli; Brighton resident Morgan Bissett-Tessier; Hull resident Charles Clinton; Newburyport resident Colin Budzyna; Newton resident Alex Levy; North Reading resident William Goldstein; Quincy residents Ellis Hampton and Niamh O'Connor; and Roslindale resident Teresa Lawlor.
THE VELVETEEN RABBIT will be performed at the Roberts Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston, MA on Saturdays and Sundays December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18.
