Nan is at her wit's end and plans to leave her no-good, abusive husband, but not without first teaching him a lesson once and for all -- a lesson that finds him bound and gagged in his recliner, with piles of venison and honey around him and neighborhood bears heading his way. Written by Lauren Gunderson (The Taming), Exit, Pursued by a Bear takes its title from a famous stage direction in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. Both funny and unsettling, the Boston premiere of this revenge comedy is ultimately a tale of survival, triumph and healing in the face of extreme ugliness.
