From Denmark With Love to Make World Premiere in Boston

From Denmark With LoveVaquero Playground has announced our May production: the World Premiere of From Denmark With Love by John J King, a mash-up parody of Shakespeare's Hamlet and Ian Fleming's Bond...James Bond.

In this laugh- and action-packed romp, Hamlet finds that revenge is a dish best served shaken, not stirred. With help from his girlfriend Ophelia Balzac, and his trusted friend/weapons-master Horatio, Hamlet is hot on the trail of criminal mastermind Claudius Von Bjornborg. But is the Danish throne enough to satisfy the devious Claudius, or will he not stop until he achieves global domination?

Barlow Adamson, fresh off superb acting turns in Chinglish (Lyric Stage Company) and Operation Epsilon (Nora Theatre Company), directs. Daniel Craig Jones, stuck in multiple-personality mode after the Lyric Stage Company hit show Stones in His Pockets, stars as both Hamlet and Claudius. Bridgette Hayes adds a splash of Bond Girl to OPHELIA BALZAC. Janelle Mills (It's a Wonderful Life, Stoneham Theatre) plays the quick-marrying and quicker-tongued GERTRUDE. Bob Mussett (Zombie Double Feature, NXR) re-invents HORATIO Q. MONEYPENNY. Chelsea Schmidt (BlackAdder II: Live!, Theatre on Fire) stays Onnatopp of things as GOLDIE STERN. Brett Milanowski (The Third Story, Titanic Theatre Company) goes brogue as POLONIUS. Terrence Haddad (The Embryos, Fresh Ink Theatre) sinks his teeth into FORTINBRAS, JR.
