Reagle Music Theatre Summer Season

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has announced major principal casting and creative team members for its 44th consecutive summer season. Film and television heartthrob and Golden Globe nominee Lorenzo Lamas (The Bold and the Beautiful, Air America, Renegade, Falcon Crest) gets the season off to a "sensational" start June 15-24 as the driven director and choreographer Zach in A Chorus Line. Stage and screen favorite and Tony nominee Anita Gillette (Chapter Two, Moonstruck, 30 Rock, Quincy, ME) puts on a happy face as the comically overbearing mother Mae Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie July 13-22. The summer season of Tony Award-winning musicals ends August 10-19 with what producing artistic director Robert Eagle calls "quite possibly the perfect musical" as Broadway couple Rick Hilsabeck (Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot) and Sarah Pfisterer (Phantom of the Opera, Show Boat) star as Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle in the "loverly" Lerner and Loewe classic My Fair Lady.

"We are thrilled to welcome Lorenzo Lamas and Anita Gillette to the Reagle Music Theatre stage," says Eagle. "Lorenzo has established himself as a bona fide stage singer and leading man with his cabaret show and in regional productions of The King and I, The Fantasticks and A Chorus Line. Anita continues to delight on stage, television and film, captivating audiences with her versatility, great comic sensibility and youthful joie de vivre. And what can we say about Rick and Sarah? They are Reagle favorites whose magnificent voices and impeccable acting skills - not to mention great personal chemistry - will ignite sparks in My Fair Lady."

A team of top directors and choreographers are also in place for Reagle's upcoming season. For A Chorus Line, Leslie Woodies, Cassie in the national and international tours of the original Broadway production and star of On Your Toes on Broadway, will direct and recreate Michael Bennett's Tony Award-winning choreography. Woodies is a member of the Ballet and Musical Theater faculty at The Boston Conservatory, teaching choreography for musical theater. Baayork Lee, the original Connie Wong on Broadway and the choreographer of the 2006 Broadway revival, will also be on hand to discuss the show's ground-breaking concept and enduring popularity.

Larry Sousa, choreographer of the upcoming Broadway musical Merry Go Round starring Florence Henderson, will direct and choreograph Bye Bye Birdie. His assistant choreographer is IRNE Award nominee Rachel Bertone. Sousa, also on the faculty of The Boston Conservatory, directed last season's stirring production of The Sound of Music at Reagle. He will direct this season's My Fair Lady, as well. Recreating Hanya Holm's original Tony-nominated Broadway choreography for My Fair Lady is IRNE Award winner Susan Chebookjian. In recognition of the region's continuing economic challenges, Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has rolled back prices for the entire 2012 summer season. Single tickets are now $54, $46, $40 and $34. Seniors 60 and older will now save $3 on any full-priced ticket throughout the 2012 summer season. Youth tickets for students aged 5-18 are now just $20 for any seat at any show in the 2012 summer season. In addition, significantly discounted Early Bird summer subscription packages are being offered. Patrons purchasing a three-show subscription now through May 18 will save 40% off the single ticket price. Patrons purchasing a three-show subscription May 19 through June 24 will save 25% off the single ticket price.
