Merrimack Repertory Theatre announces 2102-13 Season

Merrimack Repertory TheatreMerrimack Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Charles Towers has announced the seven productions that will make up the company's 34th Season of producing professional theatre for audiences in the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. MRT's 2012-2013 season will open in the newly renovated Liberty Hall, which will see significant upgrades to the theatergoing experience of MRT Patrons.

"The 2012-2013 Season was selected to reflect MRT's core work and core mission, which is to create individual productions of theatrical art that advance a literate examination of human character and relationship" says MRT Artistic Director Charles Towers. "As always, I try to create a complex mosaic of content, style and tone across the seven-play season. Included are new comedies (Homestead Crossing and Half 'n Half 'n Half), regional premieres (Memory House and Shakespeare's Will), and an American classic (Glengarry Glen Ross.) I read a recent New York Times editorial that said 'There's less and less room in American politics for a hodgepodge of positions that don't adhere to one of the two sanctioned scripts. Unsubtle caricatures outnumber complicated characters.' The Theatre by its very nature provides an antidote to this lamentable development. We at MRT offer complicated characters, conflicting thoughts, complex emotions and creative experiences; the exact opposite of proselytizing positions or simplistic statements. We offer stories of recognizable humanity, in all its humor and heartbreak."

Go behind-the-scenes in this new comedy about married life in a repertory theatre company.
