This bold new adaptation of the classic French love story keeps the poetry, but ditches the pretension to create a tale of energy, passion, and theatricality. In 17th-century France, a brilliant, soulful swordsman with a huge nose named Cyrano has fallen in love with the beautiful Roxane. But Roxane and a handsome young soldier named Christian are infatuated with each other. So Cyrano concocts a plan to act as the suitor's ghost writer, pouring out the poetry in his heart on Christian's behalf. Cyrano now takes the stage of Gloucester Stage in the Boston area.
