The Spitfire Grill
559 Washington Street Boston
When a girl with a past arrives in a town with no future, everything changes in The Spitfire Grill. Looking for a fresh start, recently paroled convict Percy Talbott takes a job working in a small town diner. In order to help the ornery widow who runs the joint, Percy creates a plan to hold a raffle for ownership of the grill that requires a hundred bucks and an essay. As these tales come in, Percy realizes she's not the only person in town with a history. Inspired by the Sundance-winning indie film, The Spitfire Grill was an off-Broadway hit, winning the esteemed Richard Rodgers Award. Now Emerson Stage presents a new production of this folk- and bluegrass-inspired musical on the magnificent Paramount Mainstage.
