Love Person
539 Tremont Street Boston
Two couples, three cultures and four languages collide and come together in a modern-day, multimedia take on Cyrano. A Boston premiere from Company One, Aditi Kapil's Love Person intertwines communication and love in a comic, poetic and feverish game of deception. The play combines American Sign Language, Sanskrit, English and projected e-mail to explore the link between language and human connection. Meant for both hearing and deaf audiences, it's the story of Free, a deaf woman, who's in a relationship with Maggie, and Free's sister, Vic, who's dating Ram, a B.U. professor of Sanskrit. But then Free and Ram find themselves communicating, leading to some possible relationship restructuring.
