Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a masterful, utterly hilarious comedy about grown siblings and the complications of managing their recently-deceased parents, and the family's, country estate in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. A mashup of the comedies of Anton Chekhov, the result is an absolutely hysterical look at grown sibling relationships.

Described by the New York Times as "deliriously funny," Durang's comedy focuses on Vanya, who has lived his entire life with his stepsister Sonia in their family's farmhouse. While they stayed home to take care of their ailing parents, their sister Masha has been gallivanting around the world as a successful actress and movie star, leaving Vanya and Sonia to feel trapped and regretful. Their soothsayer/cleaning woman Cassandra keeps warning them about terrible things in the future, including a sudden visit from Masha and her twenty-something boy-toy Spike.

Nominated for six Tony Awards, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike won the award for "Best Play" in 2013.

"We are thrilled to bring this enchanting Broadway play to Nantucket, helmed by the talents of Martin Platt, who has been with the show since the very beginning," said Michael Kopko, Executive Director and Co-Artistic Director of White Heron Theatre and the Nantucket Theatre Institute. "This play is sure to delight audiences with its combination of humor and themes of family and relationships."
