Merrimack Repertory Theatre presents God Of Carnage

God Of Carnage in BostonTwo high-strung sets of parents meet for the first time with the intention of settling their sons' playground dispute like civilized adults. Their encounter frustrates everyone's best intentions in God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, a viciously funny Olivier Award-winner for Best Comedy and long-running Broadway hit. Directed by Kyle Fabel, God of Carnage runs at Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) September 19-October 13.

MRT is excited to welcome back Joseph Adams (Alan), Laura Latreille (Annette), and Judith Lightfoot Clarke (Veronica) to the stage. Making his debut at MRT is Stephen Caffrey (Michael). The creative team for "God of Carnage" consists of Randall Parsons (Scenic Designer), Paul Hackenmuller (Lighting Designer), Jason Weber (Sound Designer) and Olivera Gajic (Costume Designer). Olivera will be making her MRT debut with God of Carnage.

On returning to MRT to direct this play, director Kyle Fabel commented, "God of Carnage is a play I've wanted to direct ever since I first read it. I think this audience will find it as deliciously vital as I do, particularly considering the very strong cast of three MRT veterans and an exciting newcomer."

Yasmina Reza is a French playwright and novelist, based in Paris, whose works have all been multi-award-winning, critical and popular international successes, produced worldwide and translated into 35 languages. She has written seven plays (CONVERSATIONS AFTER A BURIAL, THE PASSAGE OF WINTER, "ART," THE UNEXPECTED MAN, LIFE X 3, A SPANISH PLAY, GOD OF CARNAGE, HOW YOU TALK THE GAME) and 6 novels ("Hammerklavier," "Une Desolation (Desolation)," "Adam Haberberg," "Dans la Luge d'Arthur Schopenhauer," "Nulle Part" and "L'Aube, le Soir ou la Nuit (Dawn Dusk or Night)"). Films include: "Le Pique-Nique de Lulu Kreutz," directed by Didier Martiny and "Chicas," written and directed by the author.
