Colossal

Boston Center for the Arts
539 Tremont Street Boston

Played in four quarters with a half-time show, dance company and a drumline, Colossal is a story of love, family and emotional endurance, all framed within a football game. The hard-hitting drama tells the story of young Mike, a college player who suffered a tackle in a game that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Throughout the course of the play, he remembers the accident with the help of a live, nine-person onstage football squad. Bristling with the intense physicality of the gridiron, Company One's production of Colossal at Boston Center for the Arts' Calderwood Pavilion is a thrilling theatrical experience in which the actors are required to actually suit up and play the game.
