Big Fish is a whimsical and touching tale that centers on the charismatic Edward Bloom. He has lived a full and fantastic life populated by magical creatures, true love that stops time in its tracks and acts of heroism that push the limits of belief. But not everyone is thrilled with Edward's stories. His tall tales frustrate his son Will, who wants to know who his father truly is. As Edward's final chapter approaches, Will embarks on his own journey to untangle the real man from the myths his father has created about his life. Big Fish is a heartfelt, powerful, and truly magical musical about fathers, sons, and the stories that we use to define our identities. With spine-tinglingly beautiful music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and a funny, heartwarming book by John August, the Umbrella Center for the Arts' production of Big Fish is a magnificent "big fish" of a tale itself -- spectacular, fantastical and overflowing with love.
