A Confederacy of Dunces

A Confederacy of Dunces

Huntington Theatre
264 Huntington Ave Boston

One of the most colorful and hilarious characters in literature, Ignatius J. Reilly, the Don Quixote of the French Quarter, comes alive as Nick Offerman (TV's Parks and Recreation) stars in this stage adaptation of A Confederacy of Dunces. It's the story of a hot dog-loving, medieval philosophy-quoting slob who lives in his mother's New Orleans basement, where he writes letters to "the minx," Myrna Minkoff, and tries to avoid having to work. Set against the colorful backdrop of 1960s New Orleans, A Confederacy of Dunces began life as a cult favorite before going on to win the Pulitzer Prize. Jeffrey Hatcher (Compleat Female Stage Beauty) brings this American classic to the stage of the Boston University Theatre.
